Backcountry Helicopters operate from our private heli-base at Makarora, which is situated on the Haast Pass Highway (SH 6) between Fox Glacier and Lake Wanaka. The stunning scenic drive from Wanaka takes approximately 45 minutes. Makarora is located approximately 2 hours drive from Queenstown and 3 hours from Fox Glacier.
